Here is an article in the New York Times today about new guidelines for Alzheimers diagnosis issued by the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimers Association. The article talks about the newly implemented changes that are based on some of the research that we have been reading about.

I just read a brief lay article about the new guidlines! I think it's really interesting that guidlines haven't been updated in 27 years. I like that there's now a "preclinical" stage because it could make it easier to diagnose the disease earlier. I also think it's great that researchers are using biomarkers. Checking for certain biomarkers can help diagnose AD and could potentially help find a cause.
